Today after breakfast we transferred to the airport for our flight to Yichang. Once we arrived we met our local guide Taylor who took us for a tour of the Yichang Museum. The museum commenced in 1993 and contains pieces unearthed in the Dangyang Country during the construction of the dam. The pieces range from the palaeolithic age to the Xia and Shang dynasties. Some where unearthed in Zigui Country and Changyang successively and date back 400,000 and 100.000 years ago.
And of course they had a shop where you could buy pieces around 80-100 years old to help raise money for the new museum. I toyed over a jade teapot but decided against it in the end. The price started around $380us but by the time I walked out the door it went down to $200. They even barter at the museum lol.
We had an early dinner before we transferred to the pier to embark on our Victoria Cruise ship the ‘Katarina’. The cabins are really nice and the bathrooms triple the size of the ones we had on our cruise in Greece.
We took a small walk around the ship before hitting the bar. Finally Donna and could have a drink not in our room. We indulged in two bottles of German Champagne, not cheap but as we hadn't had any drinks out on the trip yet we indulged.
Didn't quite get to the daily recommend Fitbit steps today 9,679, 6.44km.
